Government agency's work doesn't deserve to be defended.
I imagine this will be the shortest letter I'll ever submit to you, because the cartoon the Reading Eagle published July 10 left me practically speechless.
King Features cartoonist Ed Gamble drew an angry, cursing mob of people from "the left against ICE" protesting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent at the U.S.-Mexico border with a gun trained on three men labeled "terrorist," "drug smuggler" and "MS-13 gang."
It was revolting, offensive and beyond inappropriate for you to print.
Gamble doesn't know the difference between ICE and Customs and Border Protection.
To clarify, ICE doesn't work at the border, something that should be well-known to you at the paper of record for Berks County.
ICE runs the horrifying and illegal Berks County Residential Center that has been in operation for years and that our elected officials have refused to shut down no matter how many human rights abuses have been documented there.
Cartoon about ICE inaccurate, offensive
