With the Pro plan on Weebly, we have the ability to control "what privileges" our editors have, by page. (An editor is a user that has the ability to modify web pages on our website). Note: there are two types of Editors accounts on Weebly: Admin & Author. You must be an Admin type user, to be able to change the user privileges described on this page.
The privileges are:
Why do we want to limit editor privileges?. We have new volunteers that want to help, but we don't know them. So we are hesitant to give them too many privileges. Once we get to know them and their work, we can give them both draft and publish privileges. As an example: Jason would have permission to edit/publish all pages, but Kim would only have the ability to edit pages. Likewise Mary would have permission to create blogs on all the blog pages, but Sam would only be able to create blogs on the News page.
How to add a new user with restricted privileges
1 ) While in website edit mode, click on the Settings Menu
The privileges are:
- Restrict editor's access to specific pages - Editors can view all pages, but they can only make changes to specific changes
- Allow user to publish changes to live site - Editors can make page public, so everyone on the Internet can see them

How to add a new user with restricted privileges
1 ) While in website edit mode, click on the Settings Menu
2) Once the menu on the left changes to the Settings menu, click on the Editors option
3) Once the Editors page opens up, click on the Add Editor button, in the upper-right hand corner of the page
4) The Add Editor page should now be displayed. Fill in the Email address, and a short message. Note: each user must have an account on Weebly (they are free) and if they already have an account, you have to use that email address on the form below.
5) In the Permissions section at the bottom of the page, select the check box for Author.
6) Some new options should now be displayed at the bottom of the page. Check the Restricted ... checkbox
7) The Pages this Person Can Edit menu should now be displayed. Use this menu to "turn on" access to individual page that this editor can edit. Trick: type the first few letters of the page name you are looking for, in the Type a page name field, to filter the list of pages displayed in the menu. This is much easier than paging down through all the page names.
8) If you want to give the user permission to publish page to the web, check the Allow user to publish changes to live site check box, at the bottom of the page. Note: we usually only give this special permission to editors that we know and trust that their work represents the message we are trying to share with our members. Generally, new members do not have this privilege.
